All,

I just want to be clear that Shift4 is not going to support the boarding of gambling merchant ID’s to First Data. We also do not consent to CardConnect boarding gambling MID’s.

Thanks,
Jared

Jeff/Randy –

We’ve been very clear, going back to the conversations and diligence from last summer, that we do not support gambling merchants. I’m not concemed about how these merchants will be boarded, but I do want to reiterate that we do not support them being boarded.

Thanks-
Mike

Jared-

I am not recommending or suggesting that the existing gambling merchants be sent over to FD. My apologies if that was not clear. These existing merchants will stay right where they are. The two items I mentioned are as follows:

 1. Existing merchants that may have an issue that would cause us to board them, which we would do on our platform.
 2. We have over 60k locations processing that do not have a gambling mid. Many of these merchants have issues, delays in funding, and other items that we would typically move to our platform. As is stands toady we will have to deal with that on as is basis.

Thanks

Important Considerations

  • Completeness: These are email, found based on the publicly, best-available documents
  • Case Context. It is very important to understand which side submitted an email as an exhibit. The party submitting it likely believed it supported their* argument. The emails should be interpreted within the broader context of the legal claims and defenses of both Card Connect and Shift4.

I have provided the emails exactly as they appear in the court documents, to the absolute best.
